Becoming an insurance agent requires meeting a variety of standards in the state of New Mexico.

At minimum, you must be at least 18 years old and obtain an insurance license in the state where you intend to sell. General requirements also include taking and passing the state specific exam.

To sell multiple types of insurance, you will likely need a separate license for each. For example, if you intend to sell disability and health insurance, you must have licenses for both.

CPMI has the resources to help you pass your exam. We offer a wide variety of materials in our online programs and live online courses. We also have traditional class materials and you will have complete access to practice exams, MP3 audio files, and more. If you don’t pass the first time, we offer a money-back guarantee!

Best of all, our courses are created by insurance industry professionals who have experience explaining complicated ideas and concepts.

CPMI values agents, managers and other professionals who regularly deal with agent licensing. Talk to us about the volume discounts we offer.

The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission requires any individual who wants to become an insurance agent or broker to satisfactorily pass a formal written examination with a minimum score of 70% for the desired license type and lines of authority. This examination is administered by Prometric.

Although not required, all prospective candidates are encouraged to take pre-licensing courses, such as those provided by CPMI.

Insurance licensing requirements vary on a state-by-state basis. View requirements for every state at the National Insurance Producer Registry.
