License Requirements
Pass at your own pace. We have developed an Exam Advantage package that will prepare you to take the test. This multifaceted tool helps you build knowledge and confidence so you earn your insurance producer license the first time.
If you want to become an insurance agent, you’ll need to know the licensing requirements for your state.
At minimum, you’ll need to be at least 18 years old and hold a state-specific insurance license. Every state calls for slightly different qualifications, however, most ask that pass a state’s licensing exam.
You may also need separate licenses for each type of insurance you want to sell. To sell health insurance and life insurance, licenses will be required for both.
CPMI can help you prepare for the training and license(s) you wish to obtain. We offer online programs, live online courses (but also traditional class materials), practice exams, MP3 audio files and much more.
Our courses are filled with quality materials, all compiled by insurance industry professionals. We even offer a money-back guarantee if you don’t pass your exam on the first try.
Are you an agent, manager, or professional who regularly handles agent licensing? We offer volume discounts and encourage you to contact us for more information.
Any individual who wants to become an insurance agent or broker must pass a licensing exam, according to the Texas Department of Insurance. Though it is not required, all prospective candidates are encouraged to take pre-licensing courses (such as those provided by CPMI) in order to prepare properly.
If you are located outside of Texas, find out more details about your state’s specific insurance licensing requirements at the National Insurance Producer Registry.
