Nevada Insurance Continuing Education (CE) Requirements

All licensed resident producers must comply with the Nevada Department of Insurance’s 30-hour continuing education (CE) requirement. Licenses must be renewed every 3 years. Further requirements:
- 3 of the required 30 hours must be spent on ethics courses.
- Agents must take courses approved for the lines they are licensed in.
- Agents with multiple licenses can take courses related to any of the licenses they hold.
Courses cannot count towards the same 30-hour requirement twice, and excess credit hours won’t count towards licensing renewal hours in the future.
Certain professions designations such as CLU, CPCU, CIC, ChFC, and CFP are exempt from CE requirements. Nonresidents, producers who have been practicing for over 20 years, and agents with limited licenses are also exempt.
Time for your Nevada insurance license renewal? It's important to know the requirements:
- 30 hours of CE, including 3 hours of ethics, every 3 years.
- Agents to take courses approved for the lines they are licensed in.
- A proctor for the final course evaluation.
After you pass our course, we will send your completion information on to the Nevada Department of Insurance through Sircon. For additional information about state specific insurance licensing requirements, please visit the National Insurance Producer Registry.
